According to MapmyIndia, the CarPad is pre-loaded with comprehensive and accurate all-India maps, with over 5 million places, national-level maps for 5,79,000 towns and villages, street-level maps for 1,200 cities, house-level maps for 18 cities and 3D landmarks and building footprints for major cities. It will be bundled with the car kit’s head-rest and windshield mounts that allow them to be used in the car’s back or front seats. For connectivity, it will have in-built 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
CarPad gives you access to Android app market which will allow you to download your favorite applications and games. CarPad also has Wi-Fi connectivity and allows you to check your emails on the go. MapMyIndia CarPad will give you turn by turn on road voice guidance which guarantees you will never get lost on Indian roads.
MapMyIndia CarPad is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227-1 with Adreno 200 GPU. The operating system is Android 2.2 while 7" display has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and has a capacitive touchscreen. Connectivity options include, SIM card, 3G UMTS network 2100 MHz, 2G GSM/EDGE/GPRS Quad Band, Bluetooth, mini USB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, 3.5mm audio jack, and a micro SD card slot which supports up to 32 GB memory.
A powerful 3400 mAh battery with more than 400 hours of standby time, FM radio, 2 MP camera with video recording feature, GPS, E compass, GPS, light sensor, and a free 8 GB memory card. All this you can buy for a price of Rs 23,000. MapMyIndia CarPad will be available in stores from 15 September.
