Asus has revealed its first two Windows 8 tablets,Tablet 600 and Tablet 810 at the Computex conference in Taipei. Each has its own keyboard dock, similar to the Transformer Prime. The Asus Tablet 600 and 810 boast designs are same as Android-powered Asus Transformer tabs, which could make them the Windows 8 tablets to keep an eye on.
Asus Tablet 600 uses the Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage. Its screen size 10.1in across and with a Super IPS display - at a higher 1,366 x 768 resolution. Brightness is rated at 600 nits, which is high enough for outside use when cranked up. More specs include dual cameras -8 megapixels for the back and 2 megapixels for the front, with an LED flash , Wi-Fi , Bluetooth 4.0 and your usual array of sensors, including GPS, a gyroscope, e-compass and, last but not least, NFC.
ASUS 810 features an unspecified Intel Medfield CPU with 2GB of RAM.We saw a processor from this family in action recently in the Orange San Diego phone and found it to be a worthy contender, next to the Snapdragon S4 and Tegra 3. Like the 600, it has a Super IPS+ display with 1366 x 768 resolution, only the panel here is a bit larger, measuring 11.6 inches screen. It is powered with Wacom dual digitizer, allowing for both pen and finger input.
Price and release date details for these tablets are not revealed yet.
