BSNL Launches 3 tablets in India

BSNL has launched three tablets making a quiet entry into the increasingly competitive market for the hand-held computers.The three tablets launched by BSNL are priced at Rs 3,250, Rs 10,999 and Rs 13,500. Two of them come with 7-inch resistive screen with Android 2.3 operating system, while the third comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, a BSNL official said.

First The 7-inch tablet - BSNL Penta T PAD IS 701R - is powered by 1ghz processor and comes with 256MB RAM. It has a resistive screen and runs on Android operating software. The tablet will be sold along with special data plans and 3G services from BSNL.

Second BSNL Penta TPAD WS704C, priced at RS. 10,999. It runs on 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM. Other specs include a 7-inch capacitive 800x480 pixel touchscreen, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity with SIM card slot, has 4GB of built-in storage expandable via microSD up to 32GB, a 2MP rear camera, a 0.3MP front camera, Bluetooth connectivity, A-GPS support, an HDMI port and 1080p HD playback support.

The leader of the pack, the BSNL Penta TPAD WS802C, will be priced at Rs. 13,500. It will bear an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen, and run on a 1.2 GHz processor with 512MB of RAM. Other specs include 4GB of built-in storage with microSD expandability up to 32GB, a 2MP rear camera, a 0.3MP front camera, Bluetooth and A-GPS connectivity, as well as an HDMI port and support for 1080p HD playback.
