Samsung Galaxy vs iPad 2

The iPad 3 is LTE, but not the iPad 2. AT&T offers an LTE version of the Galaxy Tab 8.0, though. It costs more than the Best Buy version we're comparing here, however. The $350 Galaxy Tab 8.9 is Wi-Fi only. That's why we put this comparison together. The Wi-Fi version is a great deal at $350. Both tablets here will get around nine hours or more with moderate use. The iPad 2 performs slightly better, though.

It's well documented how poor Android apps look on non-ICS tablets, but Samsung does offer some decent apps with its own TouchWiz software skin. For iPad 2, there are many excellent apps, but some of them are expensive. One note: App Store apps that have been optimized for the new iPad 3 are much larger in size and will take up more space on the iPad 2 disk as well.
